Let's Play

Shown below are a bunch of games I've videoed and then defaced with text for your pleasure. Originally posted in the LP subforum at Something Awful.

I keep planning to do more, but I'm just not that good at games. Games are shite.

Braid

Whoever said that games are not a form of art has obviously never played this game. The presentation is absolutely stunning, both visual and audio. The story line is intriguing and references classic literature. For a 2D platformer it certainly is very interesting.
The game revolves around a young man named Tim. All that is known from the beginning of the game is that Tim is searching for the Princess, it was through a mistake that he lost the Princess.
In the game Tim is able to manipulate the passage of time to some extent, how he does this changes slightly in each World (Mario style level names).

Sonic 1 8 bit

Released just months after the MD/Genesis version, a Sonic game the 8-bit systems could call their own. Although some of the levels are obviously inspired by its 16-bit counterpart, the game itself is still pretty unique. This was the first console game I ever owned
As usual I will be playing the Game Gear version, highlighting any differences between the GG and SMS versions (there are quite a few in this game!)

Sonic 2 8 bit

Sonic decides to come back home after a short errand, but is shocked to see the place almost deserted. On the floor is a note written by Tails, explaining that he and the animals of the island have been kidnapped by Dr. Robotnik, and that his own safe return is exchanged for six Chaos Emeralds, to be given to six robots. There was no time to waste! Immediately Sonic once again is out to thwart the evil scientist's plan for global domination!
(The storyline above comes from the game's instruction booklet. It is contradicted by an opening cinematic where Tails runs ahead of Sonic, and Sonic witnesses his kidnapping.)
So, Dr. Robotnik kidnaps Sonic's friend, Tails, and demands that Sonic brings him 6 Chaos Emeralds if he ever wants to see him again.
This was the first LP that I did and it shows, none of the razzmatazz of the Braid videos.

Sonic Chaos

Sonic Chaos (or Sonic and Tails in Japan) is the third in the line of 8-bit Sonic games. It was the last Sonic game to be released on the Master System (except Brazil that is) and it was released in the usual territories in November 1993. I'm going to be playing through the Game Gear version, but I will highlight some of the differences between the two versions at some point (once again it's pretty minor).

Tails Adventure

The game itself is a mish-mash of RPG and platforming elements. Also surprisingly for a Sonic spinoff game, it's actually pretty good. In fact it's considered to be one of the best Sonic Games on the Game Gear.
It was released towards the end of 1995 on the Game Gear. The Master System never saw another Sonic game after Sonic Chaos (although Blast was unofficially ported in Brazil). It is the only Tails game to be released World-wide.
